DIRK MANNING is best known as the writer/creator of the horror comic series NIGHTMARE WORLD from Image Comics/Shadowline and the inspirational/“how-to” online column WRITE OR WRONG, which has inspired the print collection WRITE OR WRONG: “A WRITER’S GUIDE TO CREATING COMICS” from Transfuzion Publishing. He is also the writer of LOVE STORIES TO DIE FOR (Image Comics/Shadowline), TALES OF MR. RHEE, and upcoming stories in both CRITTER and THE LEGEND OF OZ: THE WICKED WEST from Big Dog Ink. Aside from writing comics Dirk has written several short films for the popular YouTube horror series BlackBoxTV, including “The Hunger,” “The Night Shift” and “Zombie.” Any visit to the comic con is not complete without stopping by to talk to Dirk, especially for those interested in learning the ins-and-outs of creating comics. Cherry Capital Con is excited to announce 2013 guest, and Michigan native, Joe Cooper!

Joe is an American cartoonist from Detroit, MI.

Joe attended the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City where he graduated with honors in May 2000. He started working professionally before graduating with titles like the now infamous Baby’s First Deadpool Book, and Ka-Zar for Marvel Comics.

Some past clients include, Dynamite Entertainment, DC Comics, Marvel Comics and Image Comics.
Joe currently draws Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files: Ghoul Goblin for Dynamite Entertainment.

Cherry Capital Con is very proud to welcome Bob LeFevre to the 2013 guest line-up.

Bob LeFevre started his professional career illustrating the syndicated newspaper comic strip The Adventures of Aaron, followed up shortly by his own creation Whoopty & Drew. A few of the higher profile books he has worked on are Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and his mini series Aletheia that was published through Shadowline Image.

Aside from staying active in the comic book world Bob has most recently contributed a large amount of design work for new top secret Transformer toys. So, feel free to ask about it but be prepared for rejection.

C3 is happy to announce 2013 guest Ryan Browne. Ryan Browne (pronounced Brown) is an American comic-bookmen who once used his own sock to wipe pizza from his face when no napkin was present. When not cleaning his face or his pizza stained socks, he writes and draws the questionable comics “God Hates Astronauts” and “Blast Furance: Recreational Thief”. In addition, he co-created and drew the spaghetti and western free Spaghetti Western known as “Smoke and Mirrors” for IDW and is the often confused fill-in artist on “The Manhattan Projects” from Image Comics. Currently he is taking over as second banana artist of “Bedlam”—which coincidentally is also published by Image Comics. As of writing this his face is happily pizza free, but the day is young my friends. The day is young…

C3 would like to welcome Jeremy Bastian back for 2013!

Jeremy Bastian has been called by many a “crazy” person. His dedication for filling a page from gutter to gutter with delicate detail, whimsical characters, and strange creatures might not seem too far out of the norm. However, Jeremy draws his pages at the size they are printed and does it all with a very small brush. If anything, one might have to blow up the images that pour from his mind, just to be able to see them. His book Cursed Pirate Girl beckons to the 19th century in subject and style.

We are excited to bring Marvel Writer Dennis Hopeless to C3 for the first time! He is busy writing the new Cable and X-Force title as well as Avengers Arena!

Freddie E. Williams II burst onto the comic book scene in 2005, when he began work with DC on the Eisner Award winning series SEVEN SOLDIERS: MISTER MIRACLE. Since then, he has Illustrated a long list of DC Comics titles, including: ROBIN, the FLASH, COUNTDOWN, 52, BLUE BEETLE, AQUAMAN, JSA ALL-STARS, CAPTAIN ATOM and currently the NEW52 title GREEN ARROW. Freddie is a (mostly) digital artist whose innovative approach to art can be seen in his new how-to book, the DC COMICS GUIDE TO DIGITALLY DRAWING COMICS.
